. My project is going to require some 3d motion sync, namely with things like pillars. I know that on the phsyical set you need to put motion trackers [crosses], but aside from that I could not figure out how to do the actualy syncing in maya. this is a true match move animation application and requires the following: (1) accurate camera information (lens, nodal point to subject, height, etc.) (2) accurate set dimensions build your set and camera in maya, and if your measurements are accurate, you should be able to animate the action and maintain 3D registration. (3) animate the move by matching the cg set to the background move (load the animated sequence into your maya scene file as the image plane) (4) render your set with a checkboard pattern against the background reference to check alignment (5) tweak, as in step #3 (6) repeat step #4 - #6 until the cg set moves perfectly with the reference footage
