Hey all, I was curious...when I was shooting footage for my 'aau commercial', I did versions of each shot in 16x9 aspect ratio as well. When I captured the footage it was in the right aspect ratio, so that wasn't a problem. I was just curious how that would work if I was to do a project in that ratio & then output to dvd...would it be anamorphic and look correctly on a regular tv like a movie dvd we'd buy...or would it look all funky? I think the prospect has a lot of intrigue to it, as a wider picture makes for much more dynamic shots & possibilities... let me know!

ok so you shot digital video format (720x486 1.33 0.9 pixel ratio).
high definition aspect ratio 16:9 (1.77 0.9 pixel aspect) fits neatly into this region as a center crop with a slight letterbox matte.
if you wanted to broadcast your 1.33 content across a high definition signal, you would pillar box it, that is, add black matting to each side of the image.
