Forgot to mention -- if you guys are interested in creating motion graphics, check out Bay Area Motion Graphics User Group @
www.bamg.org/The group meets the first monday of every month.
This is what they covered last Monday (sorry, for the late notice):
Bay Area Motion Graphics: Tonight: Motion, Combustion, Eminem video
We're going to have Kent Oberheu from Apple showing off Apple's new
motion graphics tool, Motion. This is one of the most exciting
products to come out in awhile and if you haven't seen it up close,
this is your chance. Even if you have seen it, Kent is a pretty kick
ass designer and I'm sure he'll have some great tips and tricks up his
sleeve.
Lee Roderick will be showing off some of his latest Combustion work.
He just recently finished a spot for Charles Schwab and will be
breaking that down. Lee will also be talking about his training DVDs
for Combustion.
We'll also be showing off Eminem's new video and discussing how it was
made with Steve Ogden, who did the motion graphics for it. If you're
voting for Bush you probably won't like the video. This from Steve:
"Steveo Creative and GNN* completed Eminem's latest video 'Mosh', a searing
critique of the Bush administration, his policies, his war, his dog, and a
pop anthem for the regime change on Nov.2
www.gnn.tv/videos/video.php?id=27 Mosh premiered on MTV a few days ago, and thanks to peoples votes it's
currently #1 on the Hot 5"
If we have time I'll also break down one of the projects from Chaos
Stock, the new set of stock backgrounds Digital Anarchy has released.
This DVD of 20 backgrounds not only comes with the rendered file, but
you get the full AE project file as well. This allows you to modify
the background or just use selected components from it.
We'll have the usual assortment of giveaways, 12 Inch Design
backgrounds, Chaos Stock backgrounds, Discreet training and anything
else that's not locked down in the Anarchy offices.
Location: 150 Folsom
time: 6:45pm, Monday Nov. 1st.
