3D object
Final GS, char replacement
- You guys know what you need to do to fix
- needs cc work
- Work on the scale, her head size should be smaller than other char & move her down
- Ferro asked what was their thought process
- Lighting is on male char's back, but not on the back of his cap nor his ear
- Chg gamma to bring up contrasty area
- Add blue to her shadows, flatten her out
- Throw in some diffuse lighting
- Match the highlights on her forehead to male char highs
Chien-Yuan
Final GS char replacement
- Great for a first take....amazing
- Extraction good
- Good fake sweat thing going on
- CC is very good
- I don't see anything wrong with it
- Asked if face is morphed to time with the hits, but Chien says its the original
Richard &Jennifer
Final GS, dramatic lighting
- Inquired about running char, which Richard discussed running on treadmill
- Hair for grass, which Richard confirmed
- Black artifact at edge of hill line
- Entire CG environment
- Bizarre is that the dark clouds should move in front of moon. Looks like its scaling to a point
- Fluid fx in the sky, Richard agreed
- Its very lyrical, so I cannot speak to fx realism
- Prefer intercloud lightening first, then run one flash & cast shadows. Matte of cloud, shrink it so you don't have to create a bolt to the ground.
- Char is not in the right color space. Too blue, need more green. Too focused.
- Need multi focal planes, push out more
- Ferro says might see detail on fence posts during lightening flash
- Char does not cast shadow from moon. Displace it over the grass/hair. Tree should cast shadows.
- Lightening should overpower the moon
- Full moon would create more contrast during the dark moments after lightening flash
- Audience expects moonlight to reflect blue, even tho' its scientifically incorrect
Mescher & Salvador
Final GS, char replacement - Samurai
- Notice that face is bright, then brought down when other chars enter
- Blur the line on the hands, its too sharp (blur 6-8 pixels)
- Great placement & good refection
Eunkyung & McCrea
Final GS, char replacement
- Beautiful, got rid of the kook
- McCrea looks like the starfleet command
Luis
Final GS, char replacement (contains audio)
- Love the lip sync
- How did your keep your head still? Want to see the original plate. Luis stated that the orig char's position is awkward
- Ferro says the eyeline is odd.
- Missing the plate flicker. Put on top of whole frame
- Too much compression, Luis says animation codec made the render look strange
- Ferro says black is too warm, Vince adds to make sure the 2 bookends match
- Ferro says he loves the smirking pause in dialog
Tony & Luis
Final/CBB, GS, char replacement
- Riff & track is wacky
- Kook is OK
- Quantizing where your hand is
- Looks broken up in an area
- Track is still bumpy
- Ferro says the footage is extremely difficult
Sanjoy & Jeet
UFO
- Still has blue thing on there, Sanjoy said previous daillies were to change the opacity
- Almost there, but not quite
- Shadow is too diffuse
- Ferro says the blue bolt needs to go away
- Lighting is not quite correct. Too dark in the underside of ship. Use inside of footage for shadow ref.
- Need bounce light off street
- Show me orig plate so we can understand your thoughts on shadows
- The window reflection is blown up in scale. It should be smaller in the reflection. Could also use raytrace. Add window reflection as it breaks the plane.
- Show me a wedge of varied shadow values to choose from
- The blue bolt is too bizarre; or chg the color if you want to keep it
- Told you last time to get rid of the blue bolt, which is verified from last dallies
- Chg placement of ship to be more centered in front of 79 doors
- This is a very difficult shot, appreciate your hard work
- Ferro does not think the ship is bright enough, which can be fixed in the comp
McCrea & Hana
UFO
- Difficult shot on lo res video cam.
- Animation issues, but very progressive with the matchmove
- Doing 3D move in 3D space, which is very hard
- Tracking is not working right, Hana used Buju auto-tracking
- The flying movement makes it look like the ship has no weight
- The drop flying move does not look correct
- Need perspective chg
- The BG footage looks cropped
- What's better for this shot: have it fly across frame
- Do you know the scale? Approx 2 miles away
- Shadow is strange on the bldgs
- Not much detail on ship, so it looks very small
- Wished saw drafts 3 weeks ago to help. Not much time now
??
Final 3D obj in Wedding Crashers
- Not bad
- Translucency! Should see thru the bottle there.
- Put some Fresnel light effect, like specular
- Fake in a transparency, add more
- Tracking issue at CU shot
- Nice job on the shadows
- Some light would come thru the bottle also
- Might be able to correct with raytrace shadows or color the shadow pass
- The ground is slightly reflective thru the shadows
Juan
GS, char replacement
- Did you lighten the tie? Juan created a matte for screen rt side of suit
- Something is funny about the scene
- Too bright, but show me the last take
Olav
GS, char replacement
- Now you are too short in scale. Olav was trying to match the eyeline
Tony
Final GS, char replacement
- Bizarre, but neat
- Good flicker, but it seems a bit extreme (strobing)
- Lighting looks good
- Not too soft on the edges, but some face edge is lost
Juan
UFO
- Be careful with the black near the front of reflective object
- Put light top of ship, & less shadows
- When zoom back there's a bump in animation
- Ferro asked if auto-track, Juan said it was hand done
- Pretty d**n good, except for scale
- Because cam is at up angle, house & elevation is certain distance from cam. Ship will zoom out on a consistent angle
- The ship is not likely to tilt & its easier to sell
- One frame the ship is in the cloud & gone
Jennifer & Richard
3D object
- That's amazing!
- It would be funny if it was an ad for something
- Ferro asked why cars backed up at the beginning, Vince replied that they were scared sh*less at the giant ball
- Emphasized the window reflection
