I've created a Star Wars sub-directory in the Student Pick Up area for CA3D_626:
In it you'll find:
storyboards production folder
The production folder contains my progress on the title sequence. Check it out.
Let's try to launch this as soon as possible.

I haven't had a chance to see the title sequence yet... I thought I'd pass along a link to a site that describes how the title crawl was re-created for Episode 1 on the computer. www.starwars.com/episode-i/bts/production/f19990602/index.htmlThe actual lens used was a 24 mm lens. I think it's cool how they did the original with a computerized movie camera that rolled along a track, with letters that were lit by a giant light-box. Is John Knoll the same person who did a lot of the programming for Photohop?

hi guys....
finally found a way to export the 3ds files without tesselation to maya ( thanks to Nuch and the plug in she sent me ! )
i started exporting the star destroyer.... and have taken out a lot of the details to make it less dense... should have it up on the student drop off folder tomorow....
tried doing the same with the a-wing model but got a whole bunch of errors... sorry joe... looks like ull have to clean up that model after all !!
ill also drop off the plugins tomorow into the student drop off folder if anybody wants to pick it up.... also found a plug in to import mdl file into 3d studio max but they gave error messages with the stuff vince had dropped off... ill drop that off also just incase it helps anybody....
see ya all later...

I heard someone some how deleted the starwars folder with all the models and After Effects files. Does anyone have a backup of the Star Wars Project folder? Where do I go or how do I get the plug ins for 3D studio Max models into Maya with out tesselation?

I have a backup folder of the Star Wars Project folder, but I copied it very earily. Therefore I don't see any 3D models inside. If you still need, email me and I can send you the folder by using Gmail address.
My Gmail is
OlinaChang@gmail.com
By the way, if any model has error issue, I can check it for you. Maybe you haven¡¦t clean up the model. See if you have two faces at the same place, or if you have opened border on a close geometry. Have enough isoparm and CVs on one NURBS surface. If you are using boolean operation, usually it works except your model haven't cleaned up. After Boolean operation works, delete the history on the model.
Hope it helps.

[glow=red,2,300]TEXT[/glow] O, we'll take the old models, just make a copy of them in the Star Wars directory for Matthew, he;s going to render them out for us who are cleaning up the models and re-texturing them. Your awesome!
Sincerely,
JoeTEXT

;DI haven't heard from anyone about this project in a while.
Are we still working on the planned shots?
Also, if I'm not taking summer classes, can I still use the lab to render my comps? (If I'm still on the .5 team)
See you all around campus...
