Everything is looking great. Client is very happy with our progress. We have 5 weeks left to finish everything up, including Thanksgiving. Again, if anyone needs help with anything please let me know.
The client will be re-cutting the spot as discussed on Thursday and hopefully be getting us a cut by Tuesday.

3D test:
Looks good, but there is no real distinction yet that these birds are 3D. They need some indication that they are 3D like a wireframe shader. Also make sure you slate your test or somehow make it clear that it is a test and not for finish. A slate, lower third, or watermark would make this clear.
The test of the birds flying off the monitor at camera is not working. The birds need to peel off the screen and try putting a slight texture on them, similar to wax paper. This texture can be applied in the 2D version as well.
Sateesh: Please experiment with giving the birds some texture in 2D. You could try using track mattes in After Effects for this. Pre Comp a layer of your bird animation and use a track matte to apply a texture to this layer. Then overlay it on top of your original birds. Just a thought.
Alex: Try to make the 3D birds look more 3D. Give them a texture and maybe more of a 3D motion. Right now there is no distinction between 2D and 3D.
Monitor replacement
Heather: We need roto work done all all 3 shots that have the guy and the screen in them. Just enough so we can drop a new screen in front of him. Thanks.
HP_shot01:
Animate the screen as it is in the original, ie: the man is working on his design and zooms in on the artwork. Make it look like he is working in some graphic software.
HP_shot02:
The image on the monitor needs to be consistent in scale. Blur the edge of the new screen to match the blur on the original monitor.
The client indicated that they want the birds to be static while on screen then once they fly off, the screen is left with no artwork so it actually looks like they took off from the screen.
The client is working on the new artwork for the screen. As soon as we have anything I will let you all know.
Bekah: Re-fine the screen replacement and add any necessary animations.
These shots will be re-cut so get the replacement working and ready to be inserted into the new cut. So HPshot_02 will be moved and the birds will fly off the screen here following the girl as she begins her walk toward the printer. The kitchen shot will be cut out of the piece.
Sateesh: Can you work on the look for this while they are working in the recut. Just play with animating the birds flying off screen and toward the girl as she walks away from the guy printing. Thanks.
HPshot_07:
There is an issue with continuity here. The birds follow the girl as she walks through the apartment and fly in front of and behind her. The client likes the depth the birds behind her give to the piece but once the camera cuts to a wide shot of her sitting there are suddenly no birds behind her. They want some birds to still be behind her and then fly into the printer. This may need to be a 3D move.
Alex: Since you have begin some 3D test, why don't you work on this move. I think in order for some birds to be behind her and fly into the printer we will have to use 3D for this section. For now when you work on this shot, please use the toon shader or flat lambert you have on your current birds so they match Sateesh's 2D birds. Also, make sure you use all 3 colors, CYM, on your birds. I noticed Thursday that they were all magenta. Thanks.
Heather: Can you please roto the printer so we can have the birds fly into the area where the paper would come out. If you have any questions regarding this please let me know.
HPshot_08:
Our modeling department is working on the final model. This needs to match the real printer exactly for a seamless transition.
For the transition, have the right side of the screen drop to white before the printer begins to turn. Then begin the rotation and have the rest of the BG drop to white.
Akin:
Keep going with model. Let me know if you need anything from the client for this. Please try to get it done as soon as possible so it can be passed on to the texturing department. Thanks.
HP_logoReveal:
Scale down the logo by 50%. Put a chart on it so we can see title safe. This will finish in HD, so use an HD chart. Try 2 looks, one with black logo and type over white and one with the HP blue logo and type. Use 1 line for the text and make it smaller then the logo.
Client has also asked for a test of a new look on this. They want to see the birds in white flying at camera, from the center, so there is an explosion of birds which reveal the logo. They asked for it to be more subtle, so try to somehow make it more subtle using their direction as a guide.
Bekah: Continue with original logo reveal and please make requested changes. Also start a test on the new look for the logo reveal as requested by client. See how you can make it more subtle but keep the birds somewhat readable.
Greenscreen: FINAL!
Bekah: fix the right edge on the rat in the GS_shot 01. Use a bigger edgewrap and let the bloom wash out the matte.
Matchlighting:
Akin: Great matchmove! Everything looks really good. Now you need to texture the to match the metal railing and the base to match the concrete ground.
Heather: There is only 1 light coming form screen left, so there should not be any light on the lip of the cup. Try to work on your geometry, bring it in a little tighter in frame. Also, take a reference of a teacup in front of the box of teabags and see if there is actually a reflection in it. Then match your cup to the reference photo. Take the key light out of frame right, the light source is coming from frame left. Also there should not be any light on the rim of the glass.
Alex: Make your pot a mix between the warmer and cooler pots. Great shadows. Also bring up the terra cotta color slightly. FINAL-CBB-color
Sateesh: FINAL!
UFO:
Sateesh: great footage-move forward with this.
Alex: Good. Try looking at some UFO websites and try to get more reference.
