Q: What are some common image formats?
A:
PIX: renders out the RGB, A (alpha) and Z (depth) channel all in separate files
JPEG: RGB channels only and only good for a still image
RLA: renders out RGBA and Z channel
SGI: renders out RGBA in one file, and Z in a separate file
PIC: renders out RGBA in one file, and Z in a separate file
TARGA (tga): renders out RGBA in one file, and Z in a separate file
TIFF and TIF16: renders out RGBA in one file, and Z in a separate file
