Q: What is Photon Mapping?
A: Photon Mapping: Photon Mapping calculates indirect lighting. Similar in result to Radiosity. This method creates a photon map that stores the data of the light being spilled in to the scene, and this data is used to create a global illumination solution. The result of the photon map is independent from the resolution of the geometry.
The higher the number of photons the more accurate the image will be.
It is an easy way to add indirect light in to a scene. However, this must be a solution in your renderer.
